Balance collecting money with eating food and taking in affection. Avoid the life bombs and their debris. Live as long as you can.

This game was made for the Blackthorn Pod Game Jam with the limitation of 'Less is more'.  In this game, if you collect too much money, food or love, you die way quicker. So in this game, as with life, Less is more!

I like he concept a lot! I think this has a lot of potential for a full fledged game, at least I personally enjoy life sims and I don't think I've seen an action platformer take at one.

Btw, I kept running into a bug which makes my hunger and health 0 but doesn't end the game state. Can't tell you exactly how though.

Good luck in the Jam!

Thanks man! Greatly appreciate the feedback. The game state only ends when the health (the cross) is 0. The hunger and affection (the heart)  being low just means the health goes down quicker. You can lose extra affection and hunger when you are hit by the flying stars. I thought it would be good to allow the player to still regain their affection and hunger if they hit 0. The fact I had to explain, means it probably needs more explanation in the game. Great feedback!

nice - btw your invincible if you hug bottom right

Thanks. That is true, but if you don't collect money to buy food, you will die way quicker. I made it so you need to balance collecting money, food and affection to slow the health down long enough to live longer.

oh, i see

Nice Game broske! i only wish i could go down a platform instead of having to run to the hole between them, and i was kinda confused at the start. i love the hmm sound when you get hit. Good job!

Thanks! I knew going down the platforms would come up. I really wanted to implement that but I just couldn’t get it working properly. Then I just ran out of time to add it at the end. I’m going to try that out again when I get a chance at it. Thanks for taking the time to comment!

Glad to give some feedback, wish you the best! and hope you check out my game when im done ;)

the "hmm" sound when you take damage is hilarous

the fit of the theme is cool i guess, nice!
